About Provider

Dr. Vinod K. Gupta is a respected cardiologist with more than four decades of experience delivering exceptional cardiac care. As a board-certified expert in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology, as well as nuclear medicine, he specializes in procedures such as stents, pacemakers, angioplasty, and angiograms. His unwavering commitment to patient care has earned him the honor of being named Physician of the Year twice, a recognition that reflects not only his patient-centered approach and clinical expertise, but also his commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients. Dr. Gupta’s journey began with six years as a civilian physician for the U.S. Army in Germany, where he took care of troops and their families and developed a profound sense of duty and discipline to his craft. Following this, he completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at SUNY Stony Brook and later went on to complete an interventional cardiology fellowship at a Yale-affiliated hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Dr. Gupta then became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

When Dr. Gupta arrived in Visalia, he saw a need to transform cardiac care in the community. Recognizing this, he led the effort to establish Visalia’s first cardiac surgery program. Built from the ground up in collaboration with local cardiologists, the program brought comprehensive, life-saving care to the community for the first time. He later went on to serve as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for over 15 years, where he oversaw the program’s continued growth and evolution, further expanding access to high-quality cardiac care and cementing a lasting legacy of excellence in the community. For Dr. Gupta, cardiology is more than a specialty–it is a calling rooted in service, trust, and humanity. He believes there is no greater privilege than being trusted with a life at its most vulnerable. He lives and dies by his patients, knowing that this trust is the highest honor a physician can hold. Every decision he makes is guided by a deep sense of responsibility and a commitment to providing the best possible care.
